Stefania Giannini, assistant director-general for education at UNESCO, presented the 2024 UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy to three outstanding literacy programs from Egypt, Indonesia and Nigeria. Established in 2005, the Confucius Prize recognizes individuals, governments and NGOs for their efforts to improve literacy rates.
