Efforts continue to control monkey population
During today's Estimates Debate, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Nutritional Security, Indar Weir addressed concerns from some farmers about the impact of green monkeys on their production. He's pointed to the bounty, which has been increased from 20 to 25 dollars in a bid to control the population of the wild animals. Mr. Weir says however the move should not be seen as a flat-out cull of the animals. He's outlined how the bounty hunters should operate.
