Zimbabwe is experiencing its worst drought in decades, induced by El Niño, affecting food supplies across the country. Many rural communities, reliant on agriculture, face severe hunger as crops fail and families struggle to find food. Roots, not typically consumed, are now being harvested for survival. The United Nations warns that over half a million children are at risk of malnutrition due to poor harvests. With 60 percent of crops lost, households face dwindling incomes and uncertain futures. Communities are left preparing minimal meals, uncertain of their next source of food. Al Jazeera’s Haru Mutasa reports from Mashonaland West Province, Zimbabwe.
