Elvis Presley lives on in Aussie fans annual tribute festival on the King's 90th birthday
Elvis Presley fans arrived in the Australian rural town of Parkes to attend the iconic Parkes Elvis Festival on Thursday, a day after what would have been "The King of Rock'n'Roll's" 90th birthday. Hundreds of people onboarded the ‘Elvis Express’ train while people waiting on the platform clapped and cheered as the train pulled into the station. "The entire world wants to be at Parkes and all roads lead to Parkes this weekend. Yesterday Elvis would have been 90 years old, 90 years young, his spirit lives on," Nationals Party member for Riverina Michael McCormack said. The festival's 2025 theme, Elvis' 1967 film "Easy Come Easy Go", served as an inspiration for many to wear jump-suits, wigs and sailor-inspired outfits.
