End of year thanks giving prayers - Museveni applauded for pardoning prisoners & setting them fr
A delegation of religious leaders under their umbrella organization the Inter-Religious Council have appealed to the congregation of believers at the end of years thanks giving prayers held at State House Entebbe to take great concern about the 14 million Ugandans reported to be suffering from mental health cases and identify ways of addressing the matter. The Rev Fr. Dr. Robert Bainomugisha applauded president Yoweri Museveni Kaguta for exercising his Constitutional power enshrined under the prerogative of mercy to pardon prisoners and set them free which they said is a sign of forgiveness. The statement followed last month prerogative of mercy through which president Museveni pardoned 19 NUP supporters who had spent more than two years in prison on treasonable charges.
