In a significant development for Uganda’s energy sector, the Government has launched the Electricity Access Scale-up Project, or EASP in West Nile in Nebbi, aiming to bring electricity to millions more Ugandans. The initiative, a flagship project of the Government, is expected to greatly enhance access to power across the country and is set to run until July 2027. The project is backed by a substantial investment of USD 638 million from the World Bank.
