Energy sustainability overtaking affordability hurting Australians

Independent analyst Evan Lucas says sustainability is now “overtaking affordability” amid Australia’s renewable energy push. This comes after Australian Energy Market Operator head Daniel Westerman said he cannot guarantee the current government policies will deliver lower power prices. Mr Lucas said the “trilemma” regarding the energy policies is balancing security, affordability and sustainability. “At the moment, sustainability is probably overtaking affordability,” he said.
