Ensuring People With Sight Loss Have The Same Access To The Same Opportunities As Sighted People

The St Lucia Blind Welfare Association is today observing World Braille Day, to raise awareness of the importance of the written language as a means of communication for visually impaired members of society. The Day marks the birthday of Louis Braille, the visionary inventor of the Braille script. The theme for the 2024 observance, “Empowering Through Inclusion and Diversity,” underscores the commitment to creating a world where individuals with visual impairments are fully included in all aspects of society.
