Environmental group buys Fraser River island to protect salmon and sturgeon

In the lower Fraser River near Chilliwack, there's an island that's crucial to salmon and white sturgeon. Carey Island's gravel beds and side channels are a calm rearing habitat for the fish — and one that will now be protected. Jensen Edwards from Nature Conservancy of Canada spoke to the CBC’s Dan Burritt about how the organization bought the island with the help of the federal government and private donors.
