Barbados CARICOM youth ambassadors and their regional counterparts are being equipped to tackle climate change and health challenges. The training aligns with CARICOM's Climate Change and Health programme aimed at deepening awareness of how climate change affects health and disseminating knowledge on prevention and adaptation measures to reduce greenhouse gases. Over 30 youth advocates are taking part in the training in Guyana. CARICOM Secretary General, Dr. Carla Barnett has reminded that climate change is not a distant threat. She is confident the training workshop will strengthen the platform for knowledge exchange, capacity building, and collaboration, among CARICOM youth ambassadors and leaders. Minister of Health in Guyana, Dr. Frank Anthony says the science is known on climate change and despite efforts emissions continue leading to a hotter world. He says climate change not only impacts natural systems but livelihoods as well.
