Eskom tariff increase

The Democratic Alliance has started a petition to challenge Eskom's draft application for a 36-percent hike in electricity tariffs. The party has also been given the green light for a debate in Parliament on the matter. This follows reports that Eskom is planning to ask the National Energy Regulator for increases for the 2026, 2027 and 2028 financial years. eNCA senior reporter, Aviwe Mtila, got reaction from South Africans.
