‘Everything should be on the table’: Independent MP open to negative gearing reform

Independent MP Kate Chaney says she’s open to changes to negative gearing. This comes amid a new report the government is looking at negative gearing changes. “We need broad tax reform in this country but unfortunately, we end up playing this game of rule in, rule out and then we end up with paralysis,” Ms Chaney told Sky News Australia. “But especially when it comes to housing, people can see that their kids and grandkids are never going to be able to afford a home – they’re sick of band-aid solutions. “We need to put everything back on the table so I’m open to it.”
