For more: https://www.cgtn.com/video At the 9th Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held in Beijing from September 4 to 6, China announced that all least-developed countries with diplomatic ties to China, including 33 African nations, will receive zero-tariff treatment for 100 percent of tariff lines. Green channels for quarantine inspection, coordinated standards and faster customs clearance are expected to boost African agricultural exports to China. How will Madagascar benefit from these policies? In this edition of Leaders Talk, CMG's Zou Yun sat down with Madagascar's President Andry Nirina Rajoelina during his visit to China, where he attended the 2024 FOCAC Summit. He also traveled to Hunan Province and visited the Hunan Hybrid Rice Research Center and the Longping Rice Park, with a particular focus on hybrid rice. "China's cutting-edge technology can bring about real change through agricultural transformation," he remarks. He also says that Chinese companies are welcome to come along and contribute to Madagascar's industrialization.
