In 2019, during Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Nepal, the bilateral relationship was elevated to a strategic partnership of cooperation. In this edition of Leaders Talk, CMG's Zou Yun sat down with Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli during his four-day official visit to China from December 2 to 5, during which both countries signed a nine-point agreement on connectivity, industrial development, infrastructural development, trade and tourism. Oli commends President Xi for his vision and statecraft, noting that "the establishment of the Communist Party of China in 1921 was the most important turning point in Chinese history." Oli also praises China's Belt and Road Initiative, saying that its goal is to share prosperity and support other countries that are left behind. "It is part of a community with a shared future for mankind," he said.
