Expand areas of consumer protection

The Barbados Consumer Empowerment Network (BCEN) is calling for amendments to the island's Consumer Protection Act. Executive Director of BCEN, Maureen Holder, believes provision should be made for consumers to return, refund, or exchange unused products purchased in error. Ms Holder suggests such an amendment would align with global best practices and offer protection to some of the more vulnerable consumer groups in society.
