Expanded BRICS signals start of a 'different kind of international order': Analyst

The expanded BRICS, which was formed to act as a counterweight to the West, is the “beginning of a different kind of international order”, says Charles Kupchan, senior fellow at United States-based think tank Council of Foreign Relations. He tells CNA’s Asia First that emerging economies in the Global South are now “playing the field” by partnering up with the bloc, which was formed in 2006 by Brazil, Russia, China and India.
