Improved industrial relations are expected to be one of the positive outcomes of the implementation of workplace wellness policies. That's according to Minister of Labour, Social Security and the Third Sector Colin Jordan. He was speaking during a press briefing to update on the way forward for the implementation of the National Workplace Wellness Policy. The policy took effect in 2019, but its roll-out was sidelined by the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Jordan says a three-year plan has been conceptualised to get buy-in from workers and businesses. Year one, which deals with promotion and sensitising people, will involve the roll-out of a number of videos, social media platforms and the launch of a dedicated website. Mr. Jordan says rather than creating a new structure established Safety and Health Committees will be asked to include wellness in their plans. This will be part of the focus in year two.
