‘Fairly small danger’ Trump could allow a Chinese takeover of Taiwan

The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan discusses the “fairly small” danger a Donald Trump presidency could allow a Chinese takeover of Taiwan. New polls show Donald Trump has pushed ahead of Kamala Harris in the lead-up to the US election. “Under Trump, there is a danger he does a big deal with Xi Jinping and gives Taiwan away,” Mr Sheridan told Sky News Australia. “I think honestly that danger is fairly small because Trump won’t do anything that makes him look weak. “But … either one of these folks [Kamala Harris and Donald Trump] could give us a very suboptimal outcome.”
