Family of 3 homeless after fire
A family of three is now homeless after a blaze destroyed their three bedroom, two bathroom house at #3 Lammings, St. Joseph today. According to Station Officer Damian Bayne of the Barbados Fire Service, after receiving a call around 4:59 p.m., two water tenders from the St. John and Arch Hall Fire Stations with a total of eight officers responded to the scene. On arrival they found the house engulfed in flames and were able to quickly bring the fire under control. While no one was injured, all the contents of the insured house were reportedly destroyed. Eglon Ishmael, one of the occupants of the house, says he was outside the house at the time when he noticed the fire. He says he is thankful no one was in the house when it caught fire.
