Fate of KCCA officials unclear after Kitezi Landfill collapse arrest

The fate of Dorothy Kisaka, the former executive director of Kampala Capital City Authority, her deputy David Ssali Luyimbazi, and Dr. Daniel Okello, the former director of public health, is still unknown. The three officials were detained yesterday after spending a day being questioned by police over their alleged negligence following the Kitezi Landfill collapse that killed 35 people in August this year. The report, which was submitted to the president, indicated that mismanagement of the landfill had resulted in the disaster. Kisaka is being held at Kiira Police, while her colleagues, David Luyimbazi and Daniel Okello, are in custody at the Nateete Police Station. The legal proceedings for the trio remain unclear as they await further developments in their cases.
