Favourable conditions for storms and hurricanes
Meteorologists are warning that conditions are favourable for storms and hurricanes to form easier this hurricane season. Deputy Director of the Barbados Meteorological Services, Brian Murray shared the view during a press conference to mark the start of the Atlantic hurricane season. He revealed that the climate pattern known as La Nina will be a contributing factor. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is predicting 17 to 25 named storms, of which 8 to 13 are forecast to become hurricanes, 4 to 7 of them major. Mr. Murray has also warned about more hot days ahead.
