Federal budget is 'hostage' to where the 'economy goes from here'

The Australian Associate Editor Graham Lloyd says the budget is “hostage” to the economy. This follows the announcement of the federal budget on May 9. “It was an important week that really sets the framework for the election, whenever that may be,” Mr Lloyd told Sky News Australia. “The government’s really put itself out there both in the short term with an un-means tested giveaway and in the longer term with a big investment program in industry. “So, its hostage to where the economy goes from here.”
