Federal MPs swap suits for sweatbands as they take part in 'Fit for Office'
Aiming to promote the importance of physical activity and exercise, over 30 federal MPs and senators are swapping their suits for activewear as they take part in AUSactive’s Fit for Office campaign. AUSactive chief executive Barrie Elvish and shadow health and aged care minister Anne Ruston joined Sky News Australia to discuss the three-week fitness initiative and the importance of physical activity. “So the challenge is for our elected members from Canberra to basically wear a myzone technology for a three-week period and just see how many of them are actually fit for office,” Mr Elvish said. “It's a very friendly competition, it's not really taken seriously. The point of it is actually to get them, I guess, demonstrating to the local community the importance of exercise and physical activity.”
