Fighting malnutrition among children in Karamoja- Farmers told to grow orange-fleshed sweet potatoes

The director, Nabuin Zonal Agricultural Research and Development Institute, Dr. Paul Okullo, wants government to come up with an affirmative action to enable the Karimojong venture into agriculture if they are to address food insecurity and malnutrition in the region. This was during a farmer field day where officials from the National Agricultural Research Organization reiterated the significance of the orange sweet potato in addressing vitamin A deficiency in children below five years.
