Sugatan ang nasa 18 fire volunteers matapos rumesponde sa nasusunog na warehouse sa Balut, Tondo nitong Huwebes ng gabi (August 8). Ayon sa Bureau of Fire Protection, nagsimula ang apoy sa repair at storage area sa 2nd floor ng gusali. Kuwento ng isang fire volunteer, nagkaroon ng backdraft kaya biglang sumiklab ang apoy habang nasa loob ng bodega ang mga bombero. Agad na isinugod sa ospital ang mga nasugatang bombero. Ligtas naman ang mga empleyado ng warehouse, na may nakaimbak na mga karton, plastic, at iba pang gamit.
