FISHERMEN DECRY HIPPO ATTACKS AT HAMUKUNGU LANDING SITE

Fishermen at Hamukungu Landing Site in Busongoro South Constituency, Kasese District, have raised concerns over increasing crocodile and hippopotamus attacks on humans. During a meeting with Lt. Col. Mercy Tukahirwa, Commander of the Fisheries Protection Unit, the fishermen accused authorities of inaction on the matter. The issue was highlighted by local leaders at the site, where Lt. Col. Tukahirwa was overseeing the disposal of illegal fishing gear worth 100 million shillings. Local leaders urged fishermen to adopt better practices to avoid losses.
