Fishers give Ministry a 7-day ultimatum regarding "hurry up" fishing method ban

Nile perch fishers, traders, and suppliers, represented by the Empuuta Conservation and Stakeholders Association, have issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Ministry of Fisheries. They are seeking clarification regarding a recent directive from the Fisheries Protection Unit Commander that lifted the ban on the "hurry-up" fishing method for silver fish. This method had previously been prohibited due to its harmful effects on lake ecosystems.
