Food aid coming in Gaza is not enough for children: Palestinian NGOs Network
Amjad Shawa, the director of the Palestinian NGOs Network, stated in a phone interview with Al Jazeera from Deir el-Balah in Gaza that thousands of families, especially children, are severely affected by the lack of food and water due to the ongoing conflict. He mentioned that from the onset of the war, Israel has blocked the entry of essential supplies such as food, medicine, water, and electricity into Gaza. Shawa highlighted that, even on good days, a maximum of 200 trucks bring in humanitarian aid, which is insufficient to meet the needs of the population. Most families are surviving on less than one meal a day, with many children among them. Additionally, Shawa noted the difficulty in transporting malnourished individuals to hospitals, which are overwhelmed with injured patients, filling corridors and occupying medical teams who are constantly dealing with new arrivals.
