Food Safety | Probe underway into cause of children's deaths

The National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure has been tasked with coordinating investigations into the causes of death of several children in different parts of the country. These include one being conducted by the National Institute of Communicable Diseases. Dozens of schoolchildren have fallen seriously ill, others have died from suspected food poisoning in recent months after eating food bought at spaza shops.
