A YouTube video featuring a man sharing a name with Shamsud-Din Jabbar, the suspect in the New Orleans truck attack, surfaced on social media on Wednesday. In the footage, Jabbar introduces himself as a property manager from Texas, sharing how his military experience shaped his real estate career. “I’ve taken those skills and applied them to my career as a real estate agent, where I believe what sets me apart is my ability to be a fierce negotiator," he said, encouraging clients to reach out. Jabbar, a 42-year-old man accused of crashing a truck into New Year’s Day revelers in New Orleans, killing 15 and injuring dozens, served in the U.S. Army for 13 years, including a deployment to Afghanistan, according to Army records. In the video, he identifies himself as a manager at Blue Meadow Properties LLC, a Texas-based company whose license expired in 2022. Records show he was registered as a real estate sales agent until February 2023. Reuters was unable to reach anyone at the number provided by Jabbar in the video. Attempts to contact Jabbar's relatives were also unsuccessful. On Wednesday afternoon, FBI and Harris County Law Enforcement officials were seen surrounding the suspect's house in north Houston, Texas.
