Former congressman on how Donald Trump’s legal troubles could affect his re-election

Former US Republican congressman Zach Wamp has discussed how Donald Trump’s legal troubles have affected the former US president ahead of the 2024 election. “Unfortunately for a lot of voters in America, the more legal trouble he seems to get in, the stronger his poll numbers are,” Mr Wamp told Sky News Australia. “Because probably 30 million people think that he’s a saint and that he’s not guilty, that he’s a victim. “So this sort of underscores the victimisation that he seeks, and so it’s fascinating.” Mr Trump is currently facing multiple criminal charges across four indictments.
