Former LNP Queensland senator will recontest the Senate as independent candidate

Former Liberal senator Gerard Rennick has announced he is not "muzzled" by major parties if he recontests the Senate as an independent. “I am actually enjoying being an independent because it gives me a chance to speak out about policy I am passionate about, in particular tax policy,” Mr Rennick told Sky News Australia. “I am not muzzled by the major party and both major parties are sitting there squabbling over tax policy but neither for them actually have the courage to actually come out and take a stand on how we’re going to improve the structural deficiencies in the Tax Act.”
