Senior Malaysian government officials and other sources have told CNA that former prime minister Najib Razak’s prison sentence has been shortened to six years from 12. The decision was made by the Pardons Board. Najib was convicted in 2020 of corruption charges, related to the multi-billion dollar 1MDB scandal.
