Former NSW premier Mike Baird is being touted as a possible replacement for Scott Morrison in the seat of Cook. Former prime minister Scott Morrison announced his retirement from parliament, effective end of February. Party sources say powerbrokers within the Liberal Party are already in tense negotiations over possible candidates as nominations for pre-selection in the seat open.
