Prosecutors in Taiwan have indicted a former Taipei mayor on charges of corruption and the misuse of political donations. They are seeking a 28-year jail term for Ko Wen-je — the Taiwan People's Party leader who ran for president in January. Ko has been embroiled in a series of scandals, including a real estate corruption case. He has been accused of receiving nearly $460,000 as bribe money. Prosecutors also charged him with embezzling at least NT$60 million of political donations. He has denied all wrongdoing. Victoria Jen reports.
