Former treasurer Wayne Swan launches attack on the RBA

Former treasurer Wayne Swan has launched a scathing attack on the Reserve Bank, accusing the RBA of “punching itself in the face” with poor judgments. It’s the latest growing division between Labor and the central bank after Treasurer Jim Chalmers tried to shift the blame for weak GDP figures. RBA Governor Michele Bullock says she doesn’t expect a cut to interest rates in the short term due to persistent inflation. The Coalition and economists have criticised Mr Swan’s attack.
