For more: https://www.cgtn.com/video Though China and Guatemala have not established formal diplomatic relations, the recent resumption of diplomatic ties between Nauru and China may augur a positive trend in that direction. As Guatemala looks increasingly to China's market opportunities for its agricultural produce and business services, further developing trade ties remains essential. In this edition of The Hub, Wang Guan talks to Pedro Barnoya, president of the China-Guatemala Chamber of Cooperation and Commerce (CGCCC), to look at the pivotal role of business-to-business (B2B) relations in fostering collaboration. His organization has dedicated nearly two decades to facilitating trade, dialogue, and mutual exchanges. Historic moments, such as the participation in Expo Shanghai 2010 and APEC 2014, have contributed to enhancing friendly ties. Barnoya says the CGCCC acts as a bridge and brings more convenience to individuals and businesses eager to seize opportunities brought by China's expanding middle class. He also underscores the cultural commonalities between the Chinese civilization and Guatemala's Maya civilization.
