Friends of Karura forest denounce allegations of deforestation in parts of the forest

Friends of Karura forest has denounced allegations of deforestation in parts of the forest being to lay ground for land grabbing. According to the group’s chairman, professor Karanja Njoroge the ongoing logging involves cutting exotic trees and replacing them with indigenous trees in an effort to restore the Karura ecosystem to its original form. This comes amidst concerns raised by citizens over logging that's visible from the roadside.
