G7 Summit 2024: PM Modi Back Home From Italy After Attending G7 Summit | India Today News

Leaders of the Group of Seven or G7 met in Apulia, Italy to attend the 50th edition of the G7 Summit, which was held from June 13 to June 15. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was invited as a special guest for the event, held bilateral meetings with a number of world leaders, including US President Joe Biden, Italy's Giorgia Meloni and others. He also spoke at the outreach session of the summit. During the summit, which was dominated by the raging war in Ukraine and the conflict in Gaza, India kept its focus on issues such as artificial intelligence, energy, Africa and the Mediterranean region. PM Modi returned to India on Saturday. Ahead of his visit to Italy, PM Modi said issues crucial for the Global South will also be deliberated upon at the outreach session. The G7 comprises the US, the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Canada and Japan.
