Gaza war: Humanitarian crises escalate as Israel's forced evacuations shrink ‘safe zones’
The Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours killed at least 25 Palestinians, including eight members of the same family in Deir el-Balah, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. Thousands of Palestinians are on the run, including from the so-called “humanitarian zone” in Maghazi, as Israeli evacuation orders further shrink Gaza. The Deir el-Balah municipality in Gaza warns of severe humanitarian crises due to Israel's forced evacuations. The shrinking humanitarian zone has led to extreme overcrowding, with nearly one million displaced people, causing water shortages, waste accumulation, and the spread of diseases. The UN agency for Palestinian refugees says there is nowhere safe in Gaza. The wounded have been pouring into Al-Aqsa Hospital, Gaza's last remaining major hospital. Al-Aqsa Hospital has been appealing to the international community for medical supplies and fuel. The hospital is overwhelmed due to the large number of injuries it has received in recent days. Al Jazeera’s Hind Khoudary reports from Deir el-Balah in central Gaza.
