George Santos pleads guilty to fraud and identity theft

Former Republican congressman George Santos has pleaded guilty to criminal corruption weeks before his federal trial was to begin. He has pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft relating to his 2022 House campaign. Mr Santos is facing a minimum of two years in prison and up to 22 years in total. His sentencing is scheduled for February 7.
