Georgian MP highlights booming China ties in exclusive interview
For more: https://www.cgtn.com/video As China and Georgia continue to strengthen their bilateral ties, Irakli Mezurnishvili, member of parliament of Georgia and first deputy chairman of the Parliament Committee for Economy, sat down with CGTN's Zhang Meng. In an exclusive interview, Mezurnishvili highlighted the significant progress made since the establishment of the China-Georgia strategic partnership in July 2023. Over the past five years, bilateral trade has surged by 60 percent, with Georgia becoming an increasingly important transit hub for China's trade routes through the Middle Corridor. The Free Trade Agreement has facilitated the entry of Georgian specialty products—such as wine, agricultural goods and minerals—into the Chinese market, while demand for Chinese electric vehicles, solar panels and high-tech equipment has risen in Georgia.
