A public art installation featuring 8,000 giant dominoes tumbling debuted in Toronto. Created by Station House Opera, which has appeared in Europe, Australia, and South Africa, the project spanned 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles), connecting neighborhoods from King West to Canoe Landing and the waterfront. The dominoes were placed along streets and parks, with volunteers preparing the route. Ilana Altman, co-executive director of the Toronto public space known as The Bentway, emphasized the community-driven aspect, stating, “This domino course runs through businesses, homes, and across streets.” Aiming to combat social isolation—43% of Canadians rarely see their neighbors—the project sought 250 volunteers, who received free t-shirts, tote bags, and meals. The domino effect took place in the afternoon, lasting about half an hour, and created a visually striking display. The project not only showcased artistic creativity but also promoted community engagement and connection. - Report from Reuters Subscribe to the ABS-CBN News channel! - http://bit.ly/TheABSCBNNews Watch full episodes on iWantTFC for FREE here: http://iwanttfc.com Visit our website at http://news.abs-cbn.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/abscbnNEWS Twitter: https://twitter.com/abscbnnews Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/abscbnnews
