Gisèle Pelicot said Thursday after all 51 men were found guilty in the shocking French rape trial that turned her into a feminist icon, that the ordeal had been “very difficult” and that she “never regretted the decision to make the trial public.” “We share the same fight,” she said in her first words following the verdict on Thursday, expressing support for other victims of sexual violence. The court sentenced her ex-husband, Dominique Pelicot, to 20 years in prison for drugging and raping her and allowing other men to rape her while she was unconscious.
