‘Glimmers of hope’: Early signs of rental market ‘stabilisation’

There are some “glimmers of hope” for renters as new PropTrack data shows early signs of market stabilisation, according to REA Group senior economist Eleanor Creagh. “We have seen the pace of rental price growth nationally has remained flat for the past two months straight,” she told Sky News Australia. “That is the same across the capital cities with the exception of Melbourne and Darwin with the rental price growth remaining flat for the past two straight months. “A bit of a change from that trend we have seen for much of the past three years whereby pretty much every single month rental prices have been increasing month after month for most of the past three years.”
