According to the International Energy Agency's latest report, global emissions of carbon dioxide hit a record high last year. IEA analysis revealed carbon emissions increased by 1.1% in 2023, but the trend has slowed from previous years, thanks to increasing use of green energy. China remains the biggest emitter -- responsible for 35% of global carbon output. The US trails behind at around 12%, while India has surpassed the European Union to become the world's third-largest emitter.
