In tonight’s top story: Hudson's Bay is on the verge of collapse. Canada's oldest company, founded way back in 1670, will begin a store-by-store liquidation as early as next week. The news comes after it failed to secure the financing needed to restructure. Hudson's Bay's 80 stores – along with its website – will remain operational during liquidation sales, But the iconic department store and more than 9,300 jobs are now on the brink of disappearing. Phil Carpenter reports. While concerns over climate change prompted the Trudeau government to introduce its signature carbon tax in 2019, newly minted Prime Minister Mark Carney cut the unpopular consumer carbon tax rate to zero on Friday. The decision effectively ended one of the Liberal party's most unpopular policies. But as David Akin reports, big industrial polluters will still have to pay. On his first full day as prime minister, Carney joined a virtual meeting with other world leaders to discuss a path to peace for Ukraine. Dubbed the ‘Coalition of the Willing,’ the meeting was hosted by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and did not include U.S. President Donald Trump. Leaders discussed plans to increase military and financial support and a possible peacekeeping mission between Ukraine and Russia. From London, Vincent McAviney shares the details. Plus, the Trump administration's immigration crackdown could soon take on a new dimension. The New York Times has reported that the White House is considering enacting sweeping travel bans similar to the so-called Muslim travel ban from Trump's first term.
