But as election day inches closer, concerns are growing over heated rhetoric on the campaign trail — and the possible violent consequences. On Thursday, Donald Trump suggested that former representative Liz Cheney should have “guns trained on her face.” As Jackson Proskow reports, the comments have now triggered an investigation by Arizona’s attorney general. Meanwhile, fears of political violence have prompted a security overhaul at some polling stations in the U.S. One in four election officials has reported facing abuse or threats, following Trump’s baseless claims of election fraud.
