As Ukraine prepares for a third winter at war with Russia, Moscow has stepped up its onslaught by pounding Ukraine's power grid and launching its largest attack in months. The attack prompted emergency shutdowns and nationwide blackouts. Just hours later, U.S. President Joe Biden authorized Ukraine’s use of U.S.-supplied long-range missiles to strike deep inside Russia for the first time. Nathaniel Dove has more. And, as world leaders – including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau – wrap up the APEC forum in Peru and emerge in Brazil for the beginning of the G20 summit, talk of U.S. president-elect Donald Trump and his looming tariffs will no doubt drive the discussions. Trump has promised to raise tariffs on all foreign goods entering the U.S, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Saturday that Russia's war will "end sooner" under a Trump presidency. David Akin has more. Meanwhile, a group of activists gathered in Dartmouth, N.S., on Sunday to rally for more affordable housing options and rent control. In an area at risk of gentrification, members say low-income earners are being priced out, as the province prioritizes new builds.
