Political shockwaves continue to reverberate through the Liberal party. On Saturday, Global News reported that up to 30 caucus members have been secretly signing on to a revolt against the leadership of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. And now, there are some significant changes in the upper echelons of the Liberal Party campaign team. Mackenzie Gray has more. Members of the Jewish community, including school officials, gathered to speak on Sunday after a shooting outside Bais Chaya Mushka elementary school the day before. This is the second time in five months that the school has been targeted, and police say no injuries were reported in either incident. “We need action, and we need action now,” said Michael Levitt, the president of the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Centre. Sean O’Shea has the details. U.S. President Joe Biden and U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris travelled to hurricane-hit states this weekend, as communities across the southeast recover from Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene. Both of the recent storms — and the federal response to them — have become a major political issue, just weeks ahead of the election. Bianca Facchinei has the details. For years, Indigenous women in Canada have been calling attention to an issue that has traumatized them: forced or coerced sterilization. One might think the so-called medical practice is a vestige of the past — but it still happens in Canada, inflicted mostly upon Indigenous women. Now, the Senate has unanimously supported a bill to finally end this deeply harmful and racist practice. Melissa Ridgen explains. Porter Airlines is adding more seats, routes and destinations, as the Canadian airline attempts to establish itself as a contender with lasting power in the country’s air-travel market. It says it’s doing things differently, by offering what it calls an "elevated" economy experience. Anne Gaviola has more on Porter's plans and why the carrier is choosing to buck the low-cost, no-frills trend. A 100-year-old athlete is blowing the competition right out of the water. Betty Brussel holds multiple world records, and the centenarian swimmer is showing no signs of slowing down. Sarah MacDonald reports.
